A proud tribal woman from the beautiful district of Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh, Savita was born amidst simplicity and raised in the “Queen of Hills,” Shimla. From an early age, she carried within her a strong sense of self-respect, kindness, and determination values that would later define her life.
With over 22 years of experience in the field of education, Savita Negi is currently a lecturer in Sociology, shaping young minds and guiding students not just academically, but emotionally and morally. Her connection with her students goes beyond classrooms—built on trust, empathy, and genuine care.
Academically accomplished, she holds a postgraduate degree in Sociology, a Master’s in Journalism and Mass Communication, and a degree in Education. She is also a two-time National Eligibility Test (NET) qualifier and was among the top 10 students during her journalism studies. Before entering the teaching profession, she worked as a news anchor and radio announcer with Doordarshan Shimla, showcasing her versatility and communication skills.
But behind this inspiring journey lies a chapter that tested her strength in unimaginable ways.
Two decades ago, Savita faced a severe health crisis that left her almost bedridden. The pain was so intense that it pushed her to the edge, making her question her will to continue. At that time, her son was just three years old. In that moment of darkness, it was her child who became her light her reason to fight, to rise, and to not give up.
With a “never give up” attitude and unwavering positivity, she fought through the pain, slowly rebuilding herself physically, mentally, and emotionally. Though the journey left its marks, it also transformed her into a stronger, more resilient woman.
Today, she stands tall not just as an educator, but as a symbol of strength.
Adding another remarkable milestone to her journey, Savita Negi was recently crowned Mrs India Global Icon Gracious 2026, along with the subtitle “Mind Mentor.” This recognition is not just about beauty it reflects her wisdom, strength, and the impact she has created through her life and work.
