A young creator from Kashmir’s Anantnag district, Saadath Mohi-ud-din, has taken a leap of faith, quitting his job as a Creative Designer at Dolphin PG College, Chandigarh, to launch a unique 20-second comedy short series — The Aapa Podcast.
The show stars Saadath alongside Taja Begum, fondly known as “Aapa,” whose unfiltered wit and raw humor form the heart of the episodes. In just 10 days, their quick, relatable banter has racked up over 50 lakh views across platforms, along with 107,000+ engagements and tens of thousands of shares and saves.
One standout clip featuring Aapa’s classic roasting style has already crossed 1 million views in just 12 hours and been shared nearly 90,000 times. Remarkably, almost 90% of the audience are non-followers, showing that their humor is resonating far beyond their local community.
Speaking about his decision to walk away from a steady job, Saadath said, “It wasn’t easy, but I wanted to put my full energy into something that truly excites me. The love we’ve received proves that we made the right choice.”
With their authentic Kashmiri flavor and lightning-fast rise, Saadath and Aapa have not only become local sensations but are quickly emerging as the faces of relatable humor from the valley.
