At a time when climate urgency is no longer a distant conversation but a present reality, leaders who can merge purpose with technology are becoming increasingly vital. Among them stands Aditi Balbir an entrepreneur who has consistently stayed ahead of the curve, not by following trends, but by anticipating them.
Her journey, spanning over two decades, is not a straight line. It is layered with reinvention, risk-taking, and a deep understanding of how industries evolve.
Aditi began her career in 2004 at the age of 25, stepping into high-performance roles with organizations like McKinsey & Company and Barings Private Equity. These formative years were not just about professional growth they offered her a front-row seat to how businesses operate, scale, and influence markets. But somewhere within that structure, she identified a gap: the lack of long-term, sustainable thinking in traditional business models.
That realization became a turning point.
In 2011, she chose to step away from the predictability of corporate success to build something of her own. V Resorts was not just another hospitality venture it was an early attempt at redefining tourism through sustainability. At a time when eco-conscious travel was still emerging, Aditi built a brand that prioritized local communities, cultural authenticity, and responsible resource use. What followed was rapid scale—over 120 resorts across 21 states in less than five years proving that sustainability could be both meaningful and commercially viable.
But what truly defines her journey is her ability to evolve with changing times.
As the global narrative shifted from sustainability awareness to climate action, Aditi moved once again—this time into the intersection of artificial intelligence and environmental responsibility. Today, as the Co-Founder and CEO of EcoRatings, she is leading a new category: Vertical GenAI for Sustainability.
This is not innovation for the sake of disruption it is innovation with direction.
EcoRatings is designed to help enterprises navigate complex ESG frameworks, decarbonization goals, and sustainability compliance through AI-powered systems. In a world where many companies struggle to translate intent into measurable action, her work focuses on making sustainability structured, scalable, and accessible. The impact is already visible, with over 100 MSMEs empowered to align with global green supply chains—something that was once considered out of reach for smaller businesses.
Her work carries a multiplier effect. It does not just impact companies; it reshapes how industries approach responsibility.
Over the years, Aditi’s contributions have been recognized across global platforms from UNEP fellowships to UNWTO awards, and recognitions by Forbes India and Fortune Most Powerful Women Asia. Yet, her narrative does not rely on accolades. Instead, it is grounded in the ecosystems she continues to build whether through mentoring women entrepreneurs, contributing to global sustainability dialogues, or supporting inclusive innovation.
There is also a certain clarity in how she views the future.
For Aditi, this moment is not just about technology it is about responsibility. She believes artificial intelligence has the potential to become one of the most powerful tools in accelerating climate action, but only if guided by intent and ethical leadership.
In many ways, her journey reflects the shift we are witnessing globally from businesses that chase growth to those that understand impact, from leadership that focuses on scale to leadership that prioritizes relevance.
What makes her story stand out is not just what she has achieved, but how deliberately she has evolved.
Because in a rapidly changing world, the ability to reinvent is not just a skill it is a responsibility. And Aditi Balbir seems to understand that better than most.
